As some of you are already aware, the price of raw materials have increased
significantly over the past few months. We have always done our best to
keep our fuel prices fair for everyone. However, we have no control over
the rising cost of model rc fuel. We were recently notified by a few of our
fuel suppliers that the price of nitro fuel would increase significantly. This
increase was apparently caused by a shortage of nitro that for some time
was being produced in China. As we were told by some of our fuel suppliers,
the production of nitro model rc fuel in China caused an undesirable level of
smog in the area. This area of smog became more of a concern in preparation
for the Summer Olympics in China. From what I was told, the Chinese
government ordered the production of nitro to be halted temporarily in
order to clear the air of smog for the Summer Olympics.
What does this mean? Well, simply stated, there is now a shortage of nitro
fuel for model use and the price has already increased by about 25%.
Now the good news. We at Millennium Hobbies value our customers. We
would like each and everyone to enjoy their hobbies with little worry about a
nitro fuel shortage. Therefore, as soon as we heard word that there would
be a nitro fuel shortage, we immediately placed an order for as much nitro
model fuel as we could get. At this time, we have NOT increased our fuel
prices to reflect the recent cost increase. However, when our fuel stock
runs low, we will be forced to raise our fuel prices. This price increase will
be necessary for us to cover the additional cost to re-stock our nitro fuel
supply.
